Description:
Technical Rope Rescue - Operations Level is a specialist course designed by ESA for Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Services personnel. It covers the rope rescue skills required to access and evacuate casualties from most high angle locations.

Technical Rope Rescue - Operations Level is a 5 day course including classroom and practical field exercises.

Students will advance from over the bank rescues to progressively more difficult vertical scenarios. Students are trained in pre-planning and size up of rope rescue operations; knots, hitches and anchor systems; belay operations; ascending and descending; raising and lowering systems; and patient packaging and litter tending. Special emphasis is placed o­n safety considerations for rescuers, victims, and bystanders.

Accreditation:
Technical Rope Rescue - Operations Level presented by ESA meets the requirements for the Operations Level of NFPA 1670 for Technical Rope Incidents.

Prerequisites:
• Email address. Free email is available on Google (gmail) and Hotmail. Correspondence between ESA and students will be sent by email.
• Students must be at least 18 years of age and in good physical condition.

Credentials:
Successful students will receive an ESA certificate.

They must attend the full five days of classes.

Application:
An application for the Technical Rope Rescue - Operations Level course at ESA must include the following:

• Completed ESA Application Form

• Copy of driver's licence or other proof of age (minimum 18 years)

• Full payment of course fees ($1,190.00). This includes a non-refundable deposit of $50.00.

It is the responsibility of an applicant to ensure an application submitted to ESA is complete and meets all prerequisites.

If an incomplete application to the Rope Rescue Course is received by ESA, the application will not be completely processed. The applicant's information will be entered in the ESA database and the course fees will be deposited. An acceptance letter for the Rope Rescue Course will not be issued until a complete application has been received and processed by ESA.

ESA Fees:
Fees for the Technical Rope Rescue Course are $1,190.00, including course materials, tuition fees, student fees and applicable GST.

Total fees must accompany an application.

Class size is limited to 12 students. The first 12 applicants with complete applications and paid fees will be accepted.

Payment may be made by cheque (payable to Emergency Services Academy Ltd.), cash, debit card, Visa, MasterCard or American Express.

Fees listed above apply to Canadian residents (Canadian Citizen, Landed Immigrant or Permanent Resident). International students will pay a 120% surcharge on tuition and comprehensive fees. The fee for International students for this course is $1,428.00 Cdn.
